The EBT usually ran with the standard gauge cars right after the locomotive,
at least that's what all the photos I've seen show.  The EBT also had to add
an adapter to the coupler, because they used the 3/4 size ones, that some
narrow gauges used.

The EAST BROAD TOP did it routinely, lifted the standard gauge car off of  
it's trucks, rolled their narrow gauge trucks underneath and off they went, 
from  Uniontown, PA to Orbisonia, PA or environs ( and back )    Never heard

of them dumping one, Lee Rainey would most likely know.
