Roy, Thanks for the heads up on the Show. I should be able to make it there
and it will allow me to put hands on. I think it is exactly what I need.
Right now everything is just ideas in my head.
Chris, I was wondering about the engine portion. I hadn't got that far in the
process because I wasn't sure it if was very feasible or not. I have looked
at S-Helper sets before; they haven't been in stock when I check.
Dave, I've done a fair amount of modeling over the years, some war gaming other
scale farm related, so styrene and other tricks of the hobby are not new to me.
I want to thank everyone for the fast replies and great info, I have more to
think about. Before long I will be able to pick my kids brains, which are 8 &
11, and hopefully put my hands on some actual model equipment. It may result
in some HO for now and S at some point in the future. I'm in no way tied to the
Sn42 idea, I think Scale S would be more like the trains I saw growing up. The
amount of knowledge of the list members amazes me.
I just want to give another thank you to everyone that responded both on and
off the list.
