  Hi Jim, but at the same time the power here on the branchline is presently a 
GP20 which could be bashed from a GP9 without too much trouble,and if one 
extends the "modern" era back to the 1990's they were using Gp9's and GP38-2 
locos. The Roaring Camp Big Trees line uses an old ATSF CF7. Over in the 
central valley one shortline had a fleet of restored GE 70 tonners till 
recently and I just saw a website of a railroad back east that was using old 
Baldwin switchers, one even painted in PRR colors which reminds me that an SP 
GP9 passenger version still works up around the bay area in black widow paint 
and a few years ago the Sacto museum was switching all door lumber cars with a 
SW-1 in WP paint IIRC. So being a modern era modeler is quite possible if one 
wants it and is willing to look around for suitable prototypes.We could still 
use those 57 foot mech reefers though as they were seen pretty much everywhere 
for the last 30 plus years. ......DaveBranum
