Whenever I sign on to the Yahoo Groups area, I check the volume of posts for
the S-scale group. When the volume exceeds 200 to 300 for the week, I know
there is a wacky discussion going on -- something on the order of "what we need
is" or "what is wrong is" or "in my opinion", etc., etc.

There is a lot of great modeling going on out there in S-scale land, but it all
gets drowned out by the waves of postings about not much at all.

Here's a modest proposal for the group and for the moderators: Why don't we
all as a group try to post only messages about actual modeling activity,
modeling techniques, questions about modeling techniques, searches for a model
or part, etc. FOR AN ENTIRE WEEK?

This will have to be self-moderating, but let's see as a group if we can focus
on the fun of S-scale model railroading for just one week.

Just a thought.

By the way, sometime in the last few weeks, there was some discussion about
reviving the 3/16 SIG in the NMRA. This sounds like a worthwhile idea, but I
can't find the post of the person looking for recruits.
