Greetings all,
I feel a strong need to comment about this current thread about the need
for modern rolling stock in our scale. It seems that there is a faction
bemoaning the fact that there is a lack of modern rolling stock available, the
dearth of new products due to the China problem with our major manufacturers,
and the seeming lack of commitment from the more renowned manufacturer ( read
Lionel) to produce S products. Well..... I am here to say that there is
someone who is producing cars that are reflective of the modern era ( defined
as mid 1960's to present day). If one would take a look at the product Iron
Rail Models offers, perhaps one might come away with the feeling that there is
still promise and excitement being held for this scale. While it is true that
the origins for these tank car components began through the work of Russ Downs,
a closer look at the cars being done today would hopefully illustrate that the
level and the amount of
detail, quality of construction, roadnames, and sheer variety of car types are
a vast improvement from cars done in the years past. We constantly try to
experiment with what we can do in order to offer even more variety for the S
crowd to enjoy. We will continue to change our line up to keep our line fresh.
If there is a car that proves popular like our Occidental Super Acid Car, the
33,000 gallon LPG car, the Sunoco LPG car or even our Graffitied tank car, then
we will continue to fill that request.
This is our niche, our wheelhouse. Our cars may not be exact to the last
rivet or weld, but no one else can come close to that overall 'modern look'
for each style of our cars While small in size business wise, we are huge in
our intensity and dedication for our products. Because our runs are limited,
we are flexible in order to adjust quickly and to move on to the next good car
design or decoration scheme.
Check out what we have to offer. Check back as there will be some new
cars to be announced soon. Visit www.ironrilmodels.com
