Maybe I'm just lazy. I made an A-B-A set of F-7's from AM FP-7 shells back in the '80's, and did some other modifications using Exacto tools, etc. It worked, too, but I always felt like I was walking a tightrope where precision was concerned.
Maybe I am influenced too much by "super modelers" in HO building accurate models of HO outhouses down to .0001" tolerances? Besides, I'm always on the lookout for "cheap, > fast, and dirty" ways to do stuff.
