"Precision tools?"  I think most of us use a an Xacto razor saw or some generic 
equivalent and a mitre box (I think thealuminum one I have was also Xacto from 
many years ago.  It should be possible even without the mitre box is onemakes a 
rough cut, leaving extra to sand down square on a dead level surface (my 
surface plate is a piece of scrapplate glass).Check the MicroMark catalogue for 
a baseline on what is available and for how much to get an idea of what you 
need.
