A few decades back when the NASG Standards committee was trying to get the
code 110 wheels accepted, Russ Downs (Ace Model Railroad) was one of the very
few people making any S Scale wheels. We convinced him he should add code 110
wheels as an option to his premium steel wheels line. We would see him at York
(purple hall) twice a year. During one visit, he handed me a reject wheel that
had only a few thousands of tread on a normal code 110 flange. With a big
smile (Jim K, please read BSEG) he placed the wheel in my hand and told me that
he finally found a wheel that I would be completely happy... I sure do miss
Russ....
