I can't speak for whatever issues you're having or have had (with your 
trackwork, possibly?)... all I can tell you is that, as a point of fact, I run 
code 88 and 110 wheel sets on both my HO and my S models at every operating 
session on respective scale layouts without any issues whatsoever.

  You are wrong on both counts.  Code 88 Wheels are RP 25 just like Code  
  110 Wheels.  If ALL standards are adhered too the they work just  
  fine.  That means Check Gauge not Back to Back, as BB is a derived  
  number.  OK so it is only a few thou but it is do able.
  Now Code 87 is a different matter.
