Real mill gondolas (as distinct from more general purpose long
gondolas--technically, even the 52' common types are designated "mill"
gondolas) are relatively uncommon, both in prototype and models. I think even
in HO, there used tobe few (a firm--I think in California--long gone, named
Railmaster, offered a cast zamac kit); in O scale Lobaugh hada brass kit (I own
two, one assembled, ready for lettering when I find time, the other still
untouched), and PSC importedsome. Probably only those modeling the
heavily-industrial regions would need more than a few.
