I stand educated. Seriouely, though, I have never been even as far west as the
Mississippi, nevermind across it, so all I really knew was that Texas is west
of me... and that it borders one or more of the desert states. Oh, and I know
what R. Lee Ermee (the drill sergeant) said about people from Texas in the
movie Full Metal Jacket... but I won't go there now (or ever). LOL!!!

Oh well... I have lived through yet another learning experience.

Well John, I'm certainly not a slobbering Pennsy guy. However, our area of
the state is actually tropical in nature--mold, moisture. & humidity is often a
everyday thing. Last year, because of a major drought, was different.

There were certain areas, because we're just above sea-level and particular
soil conditions where they lay a fabric like mat down under railroad bed.

Keeping in mind that Texas is quite close to the DRY, desert states of the
US, Bob's comment about moisture (quoted below) makes me wondering if he might
be drooling all over his trains again...?

I love trains, too, Bob... but... really?
