I think the consensus here is pretty much what Bill Wade indicated: settle on a
prototype for the doodlebug that makes sense froma marketing perspective,
propose that only to see whether you get sufficient commitments (and ignore
off-the-wall responses). I'd consider seriously a Brill (model 55 preferred)
or EMC (although I'd rather not duplicate the brass one I already own) or
McKeen.

The speeder is in addition to the Doodle Bug (if
that ever gets a consensus) rather than instead of the Doodle Bug.
A separate project entirely and one that Ed L and I
have been kicking around for some time.
