Thanks Rance, very well said.  The problem with this exchange, as usual, is
that it has gone from a reasonable critique of a new product to political
speeches about manufacturing philosophy.  While John D. jumped on the band
wagon, it started with a comment about never buying anything from MTH.  I just
don't understand the indignation about a company offering new S products.
After the suitability for scale conversion is fully vetted, make your decision
and either buy one or not.  Frankly, no one cares what you (whoever you are)
decides.  It's not going to influence anyone else including Lionel and MTH.  I
do appreciate the effort John D. has taken to detail his reasons.  That would
be more useful WITHOUT THE CAPS.

I'm sure I've missed someone, but I don't personally know a single model
railroader that started with "Scale".  We pretty much all had Lionel, AF,
Marklin, Hornby, or the great plethora of HO and N toys.  The idea that
expanding the toy train market will have no effect on the future of model
railroading is absurd.  Adults buy their sons, daughters, neices, and nephews
toy trains.  Even we scalers.

Hey Ron, I bet you're having a good laugh over what you started with your good
news :o)  Only in S.
