No the board that Soundtraxx has available is a full featured board, not the same one that is installed into the Bachmann S4. The one that Soundtraxx has available is the Atlas board format that fits a variety of locomotives. Can be used in S, I use double sided tape to hold it in place so that it does not short against anything.

The sound byte is list as on a Tsunami board, however looking up info to order it, they only list the 539T as the HO version to fit the Bachman diesel.
