Ed,
     If sold in odd numbers there will always be one rail extra for screw-up's. 
Better too many than too few, don't you think?

Since train track has TWO rails, I have often wondered why rail is sold in 
bundles with an ODD number of rails.  A bundle with 33 rails will always be one 
rail too many or one rail too few.  Why not sell bundles with 32 rails or 34 
rails?  That would make more sense (to me, at least).  Just a thought.  Ed L.
