Good morning:
I apply masking to my model and then remove it. It is taking the paint
underneath with it. Careful examination reviled the paint was not rock-hard
where it lifted. (I do not suspect my tape. I am using a brand-new roll of 3M
automotive masking tape and Pactra 1/8 masking tape.)
My models are made of epoxy, brass, phosphor bronze, white metal, plastic,
wood,
styrene, and more.
I thought of using a fan but I don't want to blow dust at my drying paint. I
thought of using the oven on low but I am not sure the white metal and styrene
will survive. And wood is flammable.
The only thing I have come up with is hot, direct, sunlight. Besides bleaching
the model, I have to have bright sun light. Today I have thick clouds.
Tonight
it will be, well, night.
I use ONLY water base paints. Until the paint is bone dry, I dare not mask
again or add or decals.
Does anyone have a suggestion on how to speed up the drying process?
