Wow.
I re-read Rachel's initial message. She asked a pretty direct question about
ordering AC or DC models. Not once did she ask anything about DCC. Then I read
all the messages under this heading. Some folks actually answered her question.
Thank you.
The rest of the thread devolved into a p___ing match about which is more
POPULAR, DC or DCC? Really!? Popularity? Not even anything about the pros or
cons of either system (don't start!)? If we cared about doing what was POPULAR
we wouldn't be modeling in S. If we really cared about what was POPULAR we
probably would not doing model trains at all. All this is response to a new
person's question - way to make them feel welcome, group.
I took the day off to go to an Railroad Prototype Modeler meeting. I went to
presentations about various topics, I looked at models (all in scales other
than S) that were on display. I displayed some models in S. I go back tomorrow.
Now I have to think if the whole group goes on moderation while I'm busy. Just
awesome.
