Hi Bill.

If I understand your problem, you want some sort of scenic divider down the
centre of your peninsula as a view block, but perhaps not necessarily a tall
backdrop. In other words you want to be able to see over the top of it.  It may
help you to know that fellow s-scaler Terry Pond who lives in my neck of the
woods built an island style layout with a central operating area.  His backdrop
around the outside edges was only about a foot tall so that he wouldn't
isolate himself from family activities elsewhere in the basement.
The height may not sound like much, but was quite effective at holding the eye
down near track level.   Before you go spending money on materials, why not
test  any concepts with cereal box or corrugated cardboard?

Cheers
Jim

Re: Peninsulas -- I like having access to both sides as well
without a scenic divider.   The problem I have is the “edge of the
world” syndrome.   I will be putting up a “screen” of factory sides on
one side of my two sided section of the layout, and probably some trees on the
other, but has anyone got other ways of doing it short of a full
backdrop?

Have fun!
