I agree with you, Andre; what I desire and what I get are many times two 
different animals. In my recent quest to re-orient my rolling stock roster to 
better reflect what actually appeared at Keokuk, IA, within my period, I have 
had to rely on a lot of "minimal detailing".

Now that I'm trying to create a satisfactory setting for them it to perform, I 
find that I will have to rely on different subterfuges to reach my goal there, 
as well.

Nonetheless, even though my layout as a whole lacks the completeness of detail, 
or even quality construction, in some cases, that I wish it had, as long as the 
trains stay on the track as I perform the various railroad-oriented operations 
connected with it, I find that much of the shortcomings fade into the 
background, and I am basically satisfied with the layout as a whole.
