Bob,

Your reference to RMC brings up a question: Perhaps six to eight weeks ago I
took RMC up on an offer of a one-year subscription for the small sum of $25.00.
And, yes, I did receive one issue, but after that the company has gone off the
radar. That is, no additional issues. Has anyone heard what is going on?

For my Dollar RMC was a far better deal than MR. I know that's just an
opinion, but MR seldom has something that applies to what I wish to accomplish.
Even RMC does not always have something I find relevant, but it has something
often enough for me to plunk down the $25.00. I hope the outfit has not folded.

Tom

Roy and All,

I haven't received my issue yet, but if you go back at least 2-3 years on this
list, I had suggested devoting one Dispatch issue to featuring layouts, owners
and our suppliers. The idea to replace past brochures entitled "This is S"
that quickly out-date themselves, with something that is new and fresh
annually, plus feature the depth of the final layouts and their owners, makes
for a good promotions effort. Additionally we can publish our 'best' outside
of the publication schedules of the major magazines and their reduced page
count. Case in point, I've begun working on a layout that I'm told--'don't
even worry about shooting until sometime in 2013"--we're booked up.

I'm glad it finally happened, as Jeff and I had talked briefly about it a time
or two in the past. Since I haven't seen it, I can't comment about the quality
of the photography. I have a tough time trying to convince customers that
digital photography is really just a faster and easier way to to produce an
image--making it better or even equal to traditional means is the question.
How that image is created is still up to the guy with the camera and what he's
willing to put into the project. Just like anything else--nothing in, nothing
out!

It's not easy to put one of these together as I'm sure the dismal results of
the RMC promotion piece shows.

It was good to see some layouts that are different from the ones we see so much

Overall, I liked the issue, but I would like to see a little better photography
if we're to use such pubs for promotion.

Also, thanks to Bill Fraley for his article on Frank Titman. HO has John Allen
and Allen McClelland, but Frank is our very own legend.
