No,Alan, it doesn't.  I can only speak for myself.  The Y-3 is out of my 
price range even if it was scale.  Also it doesn't fit my layout in that I"m 
modeling Southern in an area where Y-3's didn't run.
  However, even if Lionel doesn't ever do scale, I'm happy to see them bring 
out a loco that will appeal to the hi-railers.  The lack of success for River 
Rasin's J perhaps foreshadowed the lack of demand for a Y-3.
   Again, I'd be tickled to see Lionel do a ton of stuff for hi-railers.  The 
2-8-2 with scale wheels is about the only thing that might rouse my interest.
