Couple of problems with that approach. The middle pair of drivers on each set 
are blind, so the the first and last set are the only ones with flanges. Not a 
whole lot to keep the engine on track there. The big difficulty is that the 
rear driver on each set has a traction tire in the way, so turning that flange 
down might not be feasible. Even if you do get the flanges turned down, you 
still have to regauge all the wheelsets to the wider RP25 check gauge, then 
throw out the electronics and find some new DC motors to replace the 
vertical-mount AC motors.
