Folks, To be sure: I'm talking about TURNOUT tie plates and the rest of the turnout detail parts, not regular tie plates. Now I know that about 80% of the tie plates on a turnout are just regular tie plates. Past that, I don't know all the parts and pieces that make up the remaining 20%...but I know a manufacturer who does and who's willing to build these parts to S scale.
I've searched the products available from Tomalco, Monster Model Works and Grandt Line. I don't see anything beyond regular old tie plates. Proto87 has parts for HO scale turnouts and San Juan has parts for O scale turnouts. But nothing for S scale turnouts. So far, I've gotten one response to my question (off list) and roughly 5 responses on-list to questions I did not ask. Now I'm not trying to be a horse's rear and I did find a couple of these posts to be helpful and informative, but I have made the decision to detail the TWO turnouts that will be on my layout. And I'm planning to use Tomalco flex for the rest, so I haven't lost my mind and I am going to be using the detail parts for the turnouts. But my question is whether or not you want to join me in getting some detail parts for turnouts? (parts that, to my knowledge, do not currently exist in the S scale market) If so, how many turnouts would you like to detail? (again, no commitment to buy) Best Regards, Rhett Graves --- In [email protected], "rhettgraves" <rcandamoonpie@...> wrote: > > Howdy y'all, > > I've been looking for some turnout tie plates like those used by Trevor > Marshall on his Port Rowan layout.
