David, I appreciate your initative in contacting Ms. Egan. A critique, if I may.
You started off with a compliment. Very good. I would encourage anyone contacting Lionel to start off this way. Outside of you stating the incorrect wheel arrangement for the Y3, the prototype Y3 had 57" drivers, the Cab Forwards(at least the AC10-12's, the ones most non-SP folks are familiar with) had 64" drivers. Therefore it's not as simple as reusing the chassis from the Y3 to make a Cab Forward. Lionel has a lot of of research and engineering done for these locomotives from their O Guage "Signature" line. They will be well aware of what, if anything, can be adapted from other models. I fear your email comes off more like a fan letter rather than constuctive encouragement and suggestions to continue and improve on the scale Flyer line.
