Bud, I'm not sure what type layout I have, I've often called it a belt-buckle figure 8 I have the ability of just running a loop, twice around. In that manner I have about 200+ ft mainline. There is also the ability to enter the main yard in the middle of the room. I also have the ability to do point to point if I utilize the Tacoma branch.

Often, I can work a couple hours breaking up a train and building a new one in the main yard. I then send that train to another town for the next evening. I work that town--dropping a few cars and adding some. I might then send a switcher to service a coal mine to add more cars. That train might then drop off cars at Madra's interchange track. Then another railroad picks them up and sends them to the MILW and they head to Tacoma. Doing that in reverse will keep me busy and out of the bars for an entire week!

I've been trying to get into operations, schedules, industries and such, but things keep getting in the way. The last thing was an old computer dying on me with all my information--many hours of time. Yes I know backup-backup. I did that using old time floppies, but no other computer I have can read them anymore!!

Many of the trees on the layout are mine, some were made semi-commercially that are very similar. Some are old furnace filter types that I made or bought a long time ago. They work fairly well in some places. Much has changed since the old days when LifeLike trees (or Lemax) were considered okay. This reminds me--I've got orders to build 40-50 more trees plus restocking my local HS, so my weekend will be filled again.

I might try a shoot another view from the opposite side to see if I can make that work, but it might be awhile.

Bob, Wow! Very Nice! Is it point to point, loop to loop or? Are the trees in the center section the same as the kind you now make and sell? Some are opposed to having railroadiana hanging around the layout, but I love it, its all part of the enjoyment. Thanks for taking and sharing this pic.
