Alan....
I am not looking for any answers to any question regarding the Lionel
cylindrical hopper. Please read my comments and tell me what answer I am
looking for. Or, tell me what is the question I supposedly asked. I have no
personal interest in that car and could care less what kind of wheels it comes
with.
My comments are only to inform you there is no way you can tell today if SHS
scale wheels are interchangeable with Lionel scale wheels (on their cylindrical
hopper) for satisfactory operation on track built to NMRA/NASG specs.
Your assumption that you can merely swap Lionel/SHS wheels and end up with a
cylindrical hopper car that will operate satisfactorily on NMRA/NASG scale
track is without any factual basis. As I said, the Lionel definition of
'scale' (per their catalog) is not the same as the SHS or NMRA or NASG
definition of 'scale".
And, to confuse things a bit more, the Lionel scale wheels on their U33C are
conforming to the NMRA/NASG specs. Thus, Lionel has 'loco scale' and 'car
scale' meanings that are not the same.
Please do not attribute questions to me that I have not asked.
Thanks....Ed Loizeaux
