While I haven't taken a micrometer to the wheels, I've put a fair amount scale
mileage under my SD70 and it has had absolutly ZERO problems with my Shinorhora
#6's, Old Pullman #5's or my less than perfect Code 100 trackwork.

Appearence wise and operationally, I'd say the SD70's a winner for the scale
market.

In the S Scale SIG review, it was mentioned that conversion wheels would be
made available for the SD70's that are Hirail only. This is great news if
true. (And you can't put anything on the internet that isn't true! It's true,
I saw that on TV...) It may be the solution Lionel is looking for.

Granted, it would be an added cost to us scalers. While I would prefer factory
installed one-stop shopping scale wheels, the alternative of a scale wheel
conversion kit would be preferable than to being locked out of suitable
products.

If Lionel is only putting their toe in the water, I strongly suggest that we
scale folk grab the whole foot, leg and everything else and pull them in.

This chance might not come again.
