If this is a problem, there are two solutions:
1. Use the new whisker type KD#5 which does not have the brass stamped spring.
2. Use KD#3 which comes factory assembled. Install the #2-56 mounting screw
and away ya go. About the same effort as attaching trucks.
No need for frustrations any more. Kadee has solved the problem.
