My standard practice is to use a NWSL U-joint (490-6 or 486-6) whenever
possible to insure alignment and low noise; but sometimes there just isn't room
between the motor shaft and the gear box - OMI FA's and E3/6's come to mind.
Then I'll use silicone tubing (RC fuel line) but never ACC/CA. I'll use fine
stainless steel or aluminum wire. I wrap it around the tubing on the shaft
and twist enough to see the wire compress the tubing. Haven't had one spin
yet and it avoids the inevitable "Oh sh**" moment when super glue squirts right
onto a bearing!

Resistors, used with DCC lighting, usually have long tails of wire on each end.
Cut that off and use it for the twist wire around tubing. That sorta fits in
with being a cheap S scale guy... (GRIN)
