The body of my first S9/Sn22.67 (Sn2 on 9mm/`N' scale track) critter engine is
coming together much faster than I expected and the main structure is already
assembled.
Since I plan on using Kato 9mm track on many of the Sn2 (only) sections of
track, I stopped by the hobby shop to look at their selection of Kato track.
Among other things, I found that the S9 locomotive, which is cables, will not
fit on an `N' scale bridge which has vertical sides, due to its width.
However, Kato makes a 9mm deck truss bridge which does not have vertical sides,
but is actually slightly narrower then the critter locomotive itself.
Other then it's width, this bridge is well detailed and would look great
crossing a stream or small gully.
Under FRA rules, would a railroad be permitted to operate a cables locomotive
on a bridge that's narrower then the locomotive itself? Were the operator to
fall out of his seat, there's nothing between him and the ground under the
bridge
