Hi Ed --

The basic answer is: I don’t know yet! As I said, everything runs really
well on straight DC, and I don’t relish taking apart the brass pieces –
something always seems to come apart where you least want it to. Anyhow, too
soon to call on all of it, but it makes for an interesting bit of mental
gymnastics!

I have guests coming over tomorrow, so I spent the day putting the railroad
back in order, within the limits of current construction. Made up a few new
trains to run and made sure everything stayed on the rails without shorts.
The only hassle was that I had parked an eastbound loco on westbound tracks,
which required a fair amount of jockeying the trains. (fun!) The 15 car
heavyweight passenger got broken up into more manageable trains... Really
long trains are fun, but they clog up the railroad and test the rolling stock’s
couplers and loco drive trains.

Have fun!

Subject: Re: {S-Scale List} Battery Power Thoughts..........
...
If economy is the goal, is the S-CAB cheaper after considering the purchase of
the new hardware (cabs & etc.) to make it run? That is a question based on my
ignorance. I am not trying to say one is more expensive than the other. Just
that total cost is more than just what goes into the loco.

... Do you need/want two infrastructures?

...Would you be going down that path for reasons of cost, space or curiosity?
