Reviewing the NZ 3'-6" RR Opertions YouTube clip, that I sent earlier, there 
are at least three different tie length & tie spacing combos shown.  Using my 
eye, they range from looking pretty much like ME's On30 track to looking like 
standard HO gauge track like Atlas.  So, I guess it depends on the traffic
