A little Solvaset will work well there... the water on the decal will 
have a tendency to thin it down a bit and reduce distortion.

Then, after the decal starts to dry, attack any areas that did not lay 
down with a new, sharp #11 blade point, and apply more setting 
solution.  That will help things snuggle down into the grooves.
