Hi Bill,
You've been given some great solutions to the bubbling issue. I will chime in
by saying that I have done 5 of the SHS billboard reefers. On one I used a dry
transfer, and had no issues with any bubbles, but on the others where I used
water soluable decals I use a small straight pin and carefully poke tiny holes
in the film. I then go back over the decal with Microsol applying with a very
soft medium to long bristle paint brush (short bristle has a tendency to tear
the decal film). I will also use a Q-tip dipped in the setting solution and
dab it careflly on the affected area, much like you would if you were stippling
paint. I will then let the solution dry and see how much of the decal film is
actually sucked into the grooves of the wood paneling. If need be, I will
repeat the process. I uploaded 3 photos in the photo section the other day
under the heading of Undec. SHS Billboard Reefers. Also, as a hint, weathering
and dull kote can also help hide tiny air bubbles up to a point.
Good Luck,
Steven Allen
