That's not true (or maybe just for RedHat Linux 7.0). I have
- Apache 1.3.14
- php 4.04pl1
- expat 1.95.1
- Sablotron 0.51 (+XML-Sablotron 0.51)
- perl 5.6.0 and
- AxKit 1.3
all working fine together. But I do have compiled Apache, PHP, expat,
Sablotron and perl myself and installed (which is the same but easier) AxKit
with cpan. For serious use do not rely (only) on RPMs.
