Comment:
the updated patch fixes all known doctest failures. The failure was caused
by the fact that two GF(2) objects existed such that {{{x.parent() is
parent}}} wasn't true anymore. Apply Paul's performance patch after
{{{polynomial_gf2x.patch}}}
