Comment:

 Looks fine and some hand feeded examples pass!
 I guess what's left to do is:
 * cleanup Volker's patch (blank lines, http://...trac... -> :trac:,
 becasue->because, EXAMPLE[S]: -> EXAMPLE[S]::)
 * merge related paches to ease readibility for reviewers (=me?),
 * add some doctests using previously failing examples: from #10833, from
 ticket description, from comment 15
 (http://trac.sagemath.org/sage_trac/ticket/9880#comment:15), maybe 52

 * craft a proper spkg
