 P.S.:  For other spkgs, we (currently) use `SAGE_TUNE_<package
 name>[={yes,no}]` (where `<package name>` can be both upper or lower
 case).  And the new variable should probably get documented in
 `devel/sage/doc/en/installation/source.rst` (section "Environment
 variables").

 `GF2X_TUNE=full` really takes ages, and uses '''a lot''' of memory (so far
 up to 2 GB resident / 2.5 GB virtual).
