Concerning a new method `install_coercion`: Wouldn't it be easier to
provide `register_coercion` with an optional argument `permanent=True`, so
that using the method with `permanent=False` would do what you suggested
for `install_coercion`? I guess having two methods `install_coercion` and
`register_coercion` could confuse the user.
