 Hi Nils,

 I guess we don't really need to take care of `print D`.

 Now, I plan to create a follow-up ticket. Namely, I notice that in
 different places in Sage we use something like a "weak value dictionary
 without callbacks", for example `sage.modular.etaproducts._cache`: This is
 a normal Python dict, but its values are weak references.

 Hence, it would make sense to use a proper
 `sage.misc.weak_dict.WeakValueDictionary` instead.
