Oh -- but it's only sufficient, not necessary, so I'd have to check the
multiplicative equation in one branch nevertheless. So it's a tradeoff,
which I don't really feel like analyzing (I hope multiplication of C++
ints is fast enough). But thanks for pointing it out; it's a nice idea.
