Who do you mean by you? I did not write the dot2tex package. See comment 4
for a perhaps more useful error message!
I do not understand your comment about removing patches/use-matplotlib-
pyparsing.patch from the dot2tex spkg. Where should I remove this? I went
to

sage/local/lib/python2.7/site-packages/dot2tex
}}}
When I search both files dot2tex.py and dotparsing.py for .patch there is
nothing found. So where do I remove this?
