Of course not. I am saying it is needed ''now'' and it doesn't really hurt
to keep it.

I would say no.
I think it is quite unlikely that `module_list.py` gets edited
- without a change to the corresponding `.pyx` files (if the `.pyx` file
is changed, the module is recompiled anyway)
- without considering changes which are only cosmetic or only for
portability (those don't need rebuilds).
