Thinking more about it, I don't think it is strictly an appleism - not of
the shell at any rate. I think the underlying file system may be case
insensitive and just look case sensitive by hackery (not unlike FAT32 in
some ways). In any case someone created checksums for `Pillow` and
`Sphinx`...
