 I feel like you must be willfully misreading or something.  I give five
 exact steps that lead to confusing doctest failure (again, in principle
 only at this point) in comment:91.  Anyway, neither of us should waste any
 more time arguing about this until Jeroen or someone else weighs in, as we
 are clearly talking past each other, unfortunately.
