The standard name for the certifying argument in the Graph methods is
"certificate", which I'd use as an alternate to the "separation" argument.
So the signature would be
cpdef is_3connected(self, certificate=False, algorithm=None,
separation=False):
where you start with
{{{certificate = certificate or separation}}}, and put in a deprecation
warning when the "separation" argument is set to True.
