Yes, I agree with that. It has been quite instructive to see that for
most use cases the only reason we had been sorting at all was for doctest
consistency, and for those, using key=str sufficed. The exceptions all (I
think) are for the cases I care about a lot for the purpose of cataloguing
and labelling elliptic curves, and here I'll be writing custom (and
properly documented) sorting functions.
So we don't need default sorting method(s) for number field elements. I
hope others agree.
