 I did some cleaning up of `_div_()` and `__invert__()`.  There seems to be
 no reason anymore to have a separate `_invert_c_()` method; I removed
 this.  Note that `_div_()` is just `__invert__()` followed by `_mul_()`,
 with an intermediate reduction removed.
