I dont't use a Mac, but are intersted why you get these issues. A few
suggestions.
* Build on an older version of OS X, then copy the binary to 10.6. See
what happens.
* I don't know if this Intel compiler takes the same options as gcc, but I
suspect it would. http://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/intel-software-
development-products-for-mac-os-x/ You can get a free trial.
You will probably find the Intel compiler has a lot more options for
debugging. On an HP compiler for instance, it can detect null pointers at
runtime if you give it the right options.
I recall once spending ages trying to find a bug on AIX, which never
occured on any other system. I kept blaming AIX, but in fact it was not,
but a bug in my code. Some bugs do show up on only one platform.
I'd also be tempted to try gcc which end in .3 or .4. They tend to be the
more stable.
