 I don't think that much co-ordination is needed here. Apparently this
 ticket is more important than #9599, and #9599 will certainly not happen
 without the patch from  here.

 So, I'll simply wait until a rebased version of singular-3-1-1-4.patch is
 available, and will then base on it a new version of my patch from #1396
 for re-merging -- which then needs to be tested for segfault on t2, of
 course.
